Description

The Process Engineer is accountable to provide operational support to currently producing assets in the Gulf of Mexico. The Process Engineer plays an important role in process safety and delivering production within Client's Upstream Production Deepwater - Gulf of Mexico assets. The Process Engineer provides technical assurance for changes to existing equipment and plant additions.

Responsibilities:

  • Asset Support:
    • Member of engineering team supporting an offshore facility, working with other engineering disciplines
    • Support root cause analysis investigations
    • Participate in HAZIDs, Bowties, ALARP discussions, HAZOPs
    • Review new well and subsea tie-back opportunities versus topsides equipment constraints and propose solutions to support the respective projects
    • Monitor equipment performance and perform process optimizations
    • Identify and lead plant improvement projects
    • Develop, maintain & improve steady state, dynamic, flare & subsea system process models for the plant
    • Perform remote daily surveillance and optimization of plant process, key utility, and enhanced oil recovery operations across all phases of the facility lifecycle.
    • Lead annual plant performance reviews
    • Support asset turnaround work scope identification, planning, and technical review
    • Develop & maintain equipment operating envelopes for process equipment
  • Manage plant relief and vent documentation. Perform routine reviews and update as necessary. Perform relief valve sizing and rating calculations as necessary for new projects or plant changes.
  • Identify improvements to the plant equipment and procedures and liaise with relevant parties to achieve safety and cost leadership in process modifications & technology deployment
  • Provide design, commissioning and startup support for projects.
  • Coach graduates and less-experienced process engineers in the organization.
  • Provide technical support to other process engineers

What we need from you

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in an engineering discipline (Chemical Engineering is preferred)
  • Minimum of 6 years work experience
  • Offshore oil and gas experience preferred
  • Experience supporting a process plant in an operations environment
  • Extensive knowledge in process safeguarding and protective system design
  • Extensive knowledge in relief system sizing and design
  • Experience building and running Hysys or Unisim models (or similar)
  • Experience in process unit design (valves, pumps, compression, heat transfer, and separation)
  • Ability to lead and integrate with multi-discipline teams
  • Ability to communicate complex problems to leadership and operational staff
  • Personal drive to deliver top performance
