Costing Engineer

Job Duties:
Generate new part cost calculations, existing part cost calculations, and cost break-downs as needed.
Create and utilize Excel spreadsheets to perform complex calculations, track data, and publish reports.
Identify the cost components and cost drivers of current manufacturing processes within the company.
Estimate the cost to produce a part for a new manufacturing process.
Estimate part packaging costs.
Create Bill of Materials and routings in ERP system.
Investigate and correct ERP costing errors.
Work with Industrial Engineer Department to estimate tooling costs.
Work with Industrial Engineer Department in Mexico to keep the cycle time and setup time tables/files up-to-date for existing and new part processes.
Work with the Controlling Department in Mexico to make changes to information in SAP, including defining machine hour rates.
Prepare reports and monitor key performance indicators.
Ability to read and comprehend part drawings, material specifications, dimension and tolerances, and GD&T.
Ability to identify the manufacturing processes and assembly steps required to manufacture a part from a drawing, bill of material or verbal description.
Knowledge of a broad range of production equipment, manufacturing and assembly processes, gauges and fixtures.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 2 years' experience with product costing or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with manufacturing and assembly processes
Working knowledge of cost accounting terms and practices
