Job Description:


We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Controls Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of electrical and pneumatic systems, adhering to company standards and regulatory codes. Duties include generating schematics, creating software programs, and conducting rigorous testing procedures. As a Controls Engineer, you will play a vital role in the installation, debugging, and maintenance of machines and systems, both at our facilities and at customer sites.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop electrical and pneumatic schematics and Bills of Materials (BOMs) in strict compliance with company standards and relevant regulatory codes.

  • Utilize structured programming techniques to create and document control system software programs.

  • Conduct comprehensive testing and debugging during initial phase, ensuring optimal performance.

  • Provide on-site support for installation, testing, and debugging activities at customers' facilities.

  • Demonstrate expertise in controls design principles, encompassing control safety categories, stop categories, failsafe designs, and safety PLC functionality.

  • Familiarity with safety devices such as light curtains, gate switches, and emergency stop buttons, ensuring adherence to ANSI B11.19 and NFPA79 standards.

  • Take ownership of updating all drawings upon project completion, maintaining accurate documentation.

  • Contribute to the development of machine operation manuals, specifically focusing on controls and operation sections.

  • Effectively communicate with customers and project team members, documenting critical communications.

  • Collaborate with the Sales team, reviewing customer control system specifications, and providing recommendations for compliance and cost estimation.

  • Actively participate in design and review meetings, offering valuable insights and solutions.

  • Provide prompt support for any control system issues or concerns raised by customers.

  • Willingness to travel as required for sales calls, meetings, and on-site support.

  • Assist the Applications department with quotations, including pricing, write-up, concept drawings, and scheduling.

  • Perform duties of subordinates as necessary, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
